Privacy Policy
Last modified: August 12, 2026
Effective date: August 12, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") sets forth the practices of Budgetelo ("we," "our," "us") with respect to the collection, use, disclosure, and safeguarding of personal information obtained from users ("you," "your") of our mobile application (the "App").
By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you must refrain from using the App.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Personal Data
- Identifiers: such as name (optional) and email address (mandatory for registration and authentication)
- Budget data: Information related to the budget you provide within the App
Purchase and Subscription Data
If you purchase Budgetelo Premium, we receive information about that purchase from the App Store or Google Play through our subscription provider:
- the product and package identifier of the plan you bought (monthly or yearly)
- purchase date, expiration date, renewal and cancellation status, and your transaction history for the App
- the store country your account is registered in
- the platform receipt or purchase token used to validate the purchase
- whether a free trial or promotional offer has been used, where applicable
- a pseudonymous App User ID — while you use the App without an account this is an anonymous identifier generated on your device; once you sign in it is your Budgetelo account identifier. We never use your email address as this identifier.
We never receive your card number, billing address, or any other payment credentials. Payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google, who act as the seller of the subscription.
Log Data
Whenever you use our App, in case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We are committed to using your information responsibly and transparently. The data you provide is used exclusively to enhance your experience with our application and ensure it meets your needs.
Specifically, we use your information to:
- Enhance App Performance: Analyze usage patterns to identify areas for improvement, fix technical issues, and optimize features to provide you with a smoother, more reliable experience
- To Provide Services: Facilitate your use of the App, including account management, user authentication, and ensuring proper functionality of all features
- To Manage Subscriptions: Provide and administer Budgetelo Premium — verifying that a purchase is valid, determining whether your Premium access is currently active, restoring purchases on a new device, and handling support requests about billing
- To Prevent Abuse: Detect fraudulent or duplicated purchases and protect the App against misuse
- To Understand Our Business: Produce aggregated statistics about subscriptions and revenue, which do not identify individual users
Your trust is important to us. We use your information only for the purposes described in this Policy — operating the App, providing the services you have asked for, meeting our legal obligations, and improving your experience. We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating and maintaining your account, storing and syncing your budget data, and providing, renewing and restoring your Budgetelo Premium subscription
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): retaining records of purchases and transactions as required by tax and accounting law
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the App secure, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing crashes and errors, and analysing usage in aggregate to improve the App
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where we ask for it, for example for optional notifications. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these "cookies" explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use "cookies" to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.
6. Third-Party Services
We employ third-party companies to help us operate the App. They may have access to your personal information in order to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf, and they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose. The providers we rely on are:
- Supabase — hosting of your account and budget data, and user authentication (privacy policy)
- RevenueCat — subscription management and validation of purchases made through the App Store and Google Play (privacy policy)
- Apple App Store and Google Play — processing of payments as the seller of the subscription (Apple, Google)
- Sentry — crash and error reporting (privacy policy)
- Google Analytics — aggregated usage statistics (privacy policy)
- Zoho — handling of support correspondence (privacy policy)
7. International Data Transfers
Some of the providers listed above, including RevenueCat and Sentry, process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, primarily in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR — the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, where the provider is certified, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework — together with the data processing agreements we have in place with each provider.
8. Data Storage
Your data is stored on secure cloud servers. We use reliable and secure cloud services to ensure the safety of your information.
How Long We Store Your Information
Your Information is kept for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes set out above. Generally, it is stored for as long as you are registered and using our Services or until the user asks us to delete the information.
Records of purchases and subscriptions are an exception: we are required to retain them for the period prescribed by applicable tax and accounting law, even after your account has been deleted. These records are kept solely to meet that legal obligation and are not used for any other purpose.
9. Data Deletion Policy
If you wish to delete your personal data from our records, please contact us at support@budgetelo.com. Upon receiving your request, we will ensure that your personal data is deleted promptly.
Alternatively, you can request the deletion of your personal data directly within the app's settings by following the instructions below:
- Access the Profile Section: Log into the app and navigate to the Profile section
- Initiate Account Deletion: In the Profile, select the Delete Account option
- Confirm Deletion: You will be prompted to confirm the deletion. Once confirmed, your account and all related data will be permanently deleted
Please note the following important details:
- Irreversibility: Once you confirm the deletion, this action cannot be undone. You will lose access to all data and services associated with your account, and we will no longer retain any personal data, including any information you've shared or stored within the app
- Data Removal: After confirming the deletion, your personal data will be deleted immediately from our systems. This includes your profile, account settings, transaction history, and any other stored information related to your usage of the app. The only exception is the purchase and subscription records we are legally required to retain, as described in the section on data storage
- Subscriptions: Deleting your Budgetelo account does not cancel an active Budgetelo Premium subscription and does not entitle you to a refund. Subscriptions are managed by the store you purchased from and must be cancelled there — Apple or Google Play. See section 6 of our Terms of Service for details
10. Security
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
11. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your data
- Request restriction of processing
- Object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format and have it transmitted to another controller
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your data protection supervisory authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@budgetelo.com.
12. Compliance
We comply with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), to the extent relevant to our operations.
13. Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to remove such information from our servers.
Purchases made by minors require the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Both the App Store (Ask to Buy / Screen Time) and Google Play (parental controls) let you require approval for, or block, in-app purchases on a child's device.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. This policy is effective as of August 12, 2026.
